PCI vs USB Fax Modem

I just got new system (HP, HPE-515t) and am running windows 7 Professional x64.
I would like to send and receive faxes but have no fax modem.
So I,m trying to decide between a PCI express internal and a USB external modem.
Any opinions on which is better and/or specific recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

no real difference, just the bulk of the external one, but external is easier to move if getting a new machine. Usually internal ones are cheaper too

I think that you would be better of with a usb device. the bandwidth will not be a limiting factor (even usb 1.1 has anough data capacity to saturate the fax data rate) and it will be easier to transfer to newer hardware.
