Hey, I have a quick question.. I don't know much about nic's (hardware wise). If I have a 3com Etherlink III ISA card and a Kingston 110TX pci card.. which one would be better to use with speed/sys resources/etc. taken in mind. I have a 10 BaseT hub with my cable modem max@1024kb/128kb service plugged into the uplink port with 2 pc's pulling 2 ip's via DHCP (don't tell my isp!). Also, please don't tell me I'm limiting myself with the 10Mbps hub with this connection.. I don't have the LAN pc's networked together & plus.. the 10M Hub was only $7!!

the year is 2001, the only bus is PCI.

hehe:)

I'm sure someone can go on about the advantages of PCI over ISA, but for one it is a heck of a lot faster and wider bus.

Well if you have a 10 Mb hub then both NICs will be running at 10 Mbps. :) If you have an extra ISA slot you want to use, put in the ISA NIC, but I think it'll use more resources. If you want to use less resources or don't have an ISA slot, then use the PCI NIC. :)

Also, you cable is less than 10 Mbps, so both NICs will be fast enough for the cable modem, AFAIK.
