Hi, a few years back I upgraded my integrated 8mb graphics on my AMD K6-2 to a 64mb Radeon 7000 PCI (It didn't have a AGP slot)
Now i'm looking to upgrade my system and will not be doing any gaming for a while and was thinking of keeping the Radeon 7000 until prices drop on high end cards.

2 questions:
1) will I be able to use a PCI video card on a mobo with an AGP slot?
2) Just how slow is PCI compared to AGP? I was thinking half the speed but wasn't sure.

You can use a pci video card on a board with AGP. If you aren't doing any gaming, you probably wouldn't notice the difference between using a pci card and an agp card.
 
They just don't make cards with fast chips for the PCI bus any more, so the best you can get compared to a high end AGP card today, in PCI is 20% performance.

But like stevty said. If you're not gaming it really doesn't matter.
