I was going to put a pci video card in my mothers machine wich has on board video, sis 530 I think.
Do you need a special program to switch the video device you wish to use? Or is it like plug-n-play?

Have you read the installation directions yet?

Yes, it should be detected after you boot up with the new video card, then ifollow the instructions and install the newest drivers for the new card.

Normally you have to disable the onboard video afterwards. This is either done thru Windows device manager, or you can have a setting in the bios, or a jumper on the mobo.
