PCI USB card - where to get ?

Have a WIN2k machine but no USB ports... looking to buy a PCI USB card. Anyone know if there's a quality issue with these things where I shouldn't just pick any generic one? I see one at tcwo.com for $17.99 + $7 shipping. Would I be better off going to Best Buy or MicroCenter?

Microcenter will probably have a better selection that BestBuy. You're probably looking at $29 from either of those places.

Here's one at Newegg (the top one) for $18 shipped. It's only a 2 port though.
The box says it's fully supported in Win2k.

There's also a 5 port USB card for $50 shipped ($40 + $10 shipping).

Try looking on the For Sale/For Trade board here as well.

I was going to suggest that you get a PCI USB 2.0 card which costs around $25. For just a bit more, you would be able to use USB 2.0 devices...

a quick search for "usb 2.0 pci" in pricewatch will get quite a few results in the $25~30 range. (the ones that cost <20 are not usb 2.0 cards, read description carefully).

I picked one up at Fry's last month fot $10. It was on sale but it's normal price was just $12.99. It is only a two port but who needs more with cheap hubs.
