PCI to USB box

Is there such a adapter box that allows you to plug in a PCI card (let's say a tv tuner) and convert it to USB 2.0?

I googled and didn't find anything.

That would be sweet. You could have your videocard conected though a cable to other room. Or you could make a PCI extension cable 😀

they make pci to pcmcia for use of video cards on laptops but they are uneconomical, unpractical, and i have no idea how good they work

PCMCIA (CardBus, actually) /is/ PCI. It's even easier with ExpressCard.

The latter even lets the external card become the primary (boot) display.

PCI over USB exists.

Quite a few VGA card that connect to USB exists,

Targus offer video, audio ect over a USB docking station.

That is all done via proprietary drivers that funnel the /device/ function through USB. They are not regenerating a software-visible PCI bus on the far end.
