Hi, I just ordered another monitor for my computer. I have a Geforce 3 AGP card with 64 MB. I was thinking of just getting a PCI card that was comparable. Someone suggested to not bother and just get a dual board video card. What do you guys recommend?

What are you using it for? Probably go with a dual-head AGP video card and ditch the GF3

I don't really much do too much gaming. My main purpose will be for doing graphic design and programming. I wanted to get more real estate.

Any suggestions on chipsets or brands?

If you don't game, get a Matrox G550 dual head. It's a very sweet card. I'd love to have it's quality and my Radeon's graphics power all in one card.

Just buy a PCI card. You can probably find one for pretty cheap in the FS/FT forums. I ran an old PCI Voodoo3 with my GeForce3 and didn't have any problems.

I use the 2 card method (best of both worlds IMO) Good combos with the ATI 9700 I use are, Matrox (G200) and 3DFX (V5500). The V5500 only uses 32MB of it's power but I like the 2D graphs

I would say either way would be fine. If you can get a PCI card for cheap then go that way, or if you wanted to possibly upgrade you could pick up something like a radeon w/ a db15 and dvi connector on it and convert the dvi connection.

There's an nVidia Quadro4 NVS200 for sale on the boards. With a cable upgrade, it can handle Dual-DVI. PM me if you want a direct link. No, it's not mine - I figured I'd just point him in the right direction. :)
