PCI Mode on AGP video cards?

I've got a geforce 2 gts in my system, made by Creative, running the detonator 4's, and in the Geforce 2 GTS property tab in the advanced display properties it says= "Bus Type: AGP (PCI Mode)". What does this mean? Also, in powerstrip and other tweaking programs like that my AGP transfer rate is listed as n/a, instead of 4x. Alot of AGP related features are also listed as n/a or disabled. I think this is what's giving me a really low 3dmark2001 score, only 1000 for a 1.33ghz athlon w/ 256 megs of ddr. Is there anyway to fix any of this short of buying a geforce 3 or something?

Drop back to the Detonator 3`s... ;)

BTW that is low... :( should be no less than 2500-2600...?

same thing happens with the detonator 3's, i just noticed it first with the detonator 4's, i switched back to the 3's for a bit and it was the same...

btw, my 1000 score was with the detonator 3's, with the 4's i get out of ddr memory errors when i try to run 3dmark2001 :|

Go to Run in the startmenu, and type in DXDIAG. Then click on the Display Tab. What does it say under DirectX features? Everything should be enabled

Also, try OpenGL apps. What happens in them?

dxdiag lists AGP Texture Acceleration as not available, but otherwise its normal. OpenGL stuff seems to run fine. what the heck is wrong??

You should be clearing 3300 in 3Dmark2001. You should be getting at least 3600. On my 1gig AXIA,512mb PC133,Geforce 2 64mb GTS I get 3300 something at default 3Dmark settings.

hmm.. whats the bet you haven't even got a VIA board.. whats the model of your board?? you could be running
an SIS chip or AMD chipset etc... and having VIA drivers there won't do too much..

You need to run the AMD AGP miniport driver.

Northbridge (AMD 761)-PCI IRQ mapping, AGP
Southbridge (VIA)-IDE
