When I go into my system properities > other devices, I see `PCI Mass Sorage Controller` in there with a yellow exclimation point beside it. My hdd is ata100, if this driver isn't properly installed, will it cause me to not run at ata100? Also, does anyone know where I can find the driver for this device, Windows can't seem to provide me with one. I have a Abit KT-7 Raid board and an IBM Deskstar 75gxp HDD.

Thanks,

You don't say which IDE controller that you have the IBM drive connected to. If its the regular IDE, then your drive is running ATA66 most likely. Since you have the yellow ! by the Highpoint HPT370 is doubtful that the drive is connected to that. The good news is that the Highpoint driver should get rid of the !, the bad news is that the HPT370 has pretty bad timing issues with IBM drives.

Your drive can still be connected to the device showing the yellow exclamation point...it just won't run worth a damn until you load the device drivers. Just check your connections.

I'm almost 100% sure that it is hooked up properly. I am going to try to install this PCI mass storage device and see what happens. Is there a program, or a way that I can tell if my drive is running ata100?
