PCI Express x16 vs x16 2.0?

Hey guys, I've been out of the hardware forums for quite awhile now (damn WoW). Anyway, can I use my current video card in my new system which has an x16 2.0 slot? This is what I'm currently using EVGA 8800 GTS 640MB which is PCI Express x16 not 2.0, and vice versa?

Yes, PCI-E 2.0 motherboards are backwards compatible with previously PCI-E specs.

yes...although there are some incompatibilities out there based on a mobo by mobo basis. There is a thread about it in here somewhere

Edit: thatis with 2.0 cards not working in 1.1 mobos

I'm using Asus A8N SLI Premium, is that compatible with 2.0 cards?
