PCI-Express Storage for Dell T3500?

Is it possible to do a PCI Express storage for a Dell T3500? Not bootable but just for a fast secondary storage? Could I use NVME or would I need to use M.2 SATA drives?

Reasons:

1. Less Computer noise
2. Lower Chance of mechanical failure
3. Lower Energy requirements
4. Faster internal transfer speeds
5. Faster Transfer speeds to future server storage based solutions

Thanks, now all I need to know is if NVME drives will work, I know SATA will work.

NVMe will work.

P.S. You could even look into Romex Primocache for using a partition of that drive (or even the whole drive) to cache a SATA HDD or SATA SSD boot volume.

Thanks for this information, I'll look into it.

I dont know the age of t3500, I assume it doesn't have a nvme slot and you're looking at a pcie slot to hold the nvmes. Just remember there are several different type of m.2, ie m.2 nvme ; m.2 ssd. So shop carefully

Yup, I am already familiar with the different keying. I just need to make sure the PCI-E card that I get is compatible with NVME, which seems to be more common that SATA M.2 compatible PCI-E cards.
