pci express Sapphire x800 pro

Are the pci express versions of the x800 pro with vivo flashable to unlock the remaining 4 pipes. I know that you can do it to the agp versions but i have never heard of anyone doing it to the pci-e. Is a 16pipe x800 pro as fast or faster than an x800xl? I would assume its faster but again I dont know. Btw, I have the upgrade bug. I was thinking about going the amd 939 route and there are minimal offerings of motherboards with an agp slot, so I would have to get rid of my 6800 gt.

NO!!! don't get rid of that! or get a new one! that Sm3.0 feature that ATI cards don't have is NICE!!! you want it!!!

but yeah i think you can unlock the pipes...get a PCI 6800gt or ultra or something...it'll do you better in the long run, trust me

I appreciate your concern about me and my 6800 gt but I could give a rats a$$ about sm 3.0. I already have owned a X800 pro and was completely happy with it. I think shader 3.0 is a useless gimmick at this point in time, the only reason that I use the Geforce now is cause I liked how the card performed in Doom 3, which was the game I was into at the time. How was that for a run on sentence? I was asking the question about unlocking the pipes because of the price difference between the xl and pro in pci-e form.

i have the PCI-e x800pro vivo and could not get it to unlock. *shrugs* oh well. OC's great tho.... 561\561, from 475\450.
