Are the PCIe power connectors on PSUs powered off of different rails than the molex connectors?

Just asking because my 8600GTS has a 4-pin molex connector on it instead of a standard 6-pin PCIe power connector. I don't want to use any of the other molex connectors if the PCIe power connector coming from my PSU is connected to its own rail.

Now I have to find a cable with a female 6-pin PCIe connector on one end and a female 4-pin molex connector on the other end.

This is the type of connector coming from my PSU:

It all depends on your PSU. A lot of them have one rail. Either way though, that graphics card won't need much power anyway, so you're fine with regular molex connection. That's why it doesn't have a 6 pin in the first place. The mobo is already supplying 75W through the PCI-E slot. Do the math... it doesn't need a whole lot more.

Doesnt need a lot more, if ever.
But to answer your first question, it depends on the PSU you have.
