Pci-Express or Not ? Need Help

im using a dell dimension e520 , im currently using a nvidia 7300 le video card. does my motherboard use a pci-express, so in other words also is my video card right now a pci express ?

im honesly not sure on that one, but from what i remember of that chip it was made mainly as an onboard chip on the motherboard. the system probably has a pcie expansion slot in it though, just open the case up and take a look

sorry guy93, ur system only has a PCI and a PCIE x1 slots. you will need a new system to use better graphics.

If you check the manual available from dell's site, it does indeed have a pci-e slot

1. The E520 has PCI-E slot

2. The PSU unit is weak. You may have to upgrade it.

3. Before you do, start with a mid range power efficient graphics such us Nvidia 9600GT or the 8800GT as they are easy on power requirements.

4. Apparently ATI cards do not work with dual monitor mode for some reason in this type of computer:
