PCI Express motherboard

As I posted in an inquiry above, Abit has the new AX8 socket 939 based on the VIA K8T890 chipset. I haven't been able to find too much in the way of benchmarks or reviews on this board yet though but I am interested because I have always had great success with Abit in the past.

There is also the ASUS A8N based on the nForce 4 chipset from nVidia. There is a sticky topic dedicated to that board above. It seems to be the flavor of the month.

I am extremely happy, as are many others, with my ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. A bit pricey in the neighborhood of 190-200 USD, but in my opinion worth every penny.

If you can wait a few weeks, I would hold off and see what DFI puts out - it's likely to be very impressive.

Just read an article that Abit is going to be releasing their nForce Ultra based offering probably by the end of this month. It will be the AN8 (not to be confused with the Asus A8N. . hahah!! 🙂 ) Probably will cost $100 to $120 for the nForce Ultra Version and around $150 for the Fatal1ty nForce SLI version. Features will include SATA, Gbit Ethernet, Firewire, socket 939, DDR 400 dual channel capability, etc. ..

Those prices might be a month after release but if it follows the other realeses they will be 50 to 100 per board higher for the 1st month.
