I have an athlon xp 2400 with 512MB ram and a radeo 9600 pro. Is it worth me upgrading to a Nvidia 6800 GT Now, or will my system bottleneck performance?

Is it worth waiting for PCI express to come out, then upgrade totally to A64 and 6800 PCIe after christmas?
 
that 9600 pro isn't a bad card at all, but your cpu isn't too terrible of a bottleneck anyway
wait for new technologies to come out - PCIe wont make that much of a difference on performance, but see what turns out in the a64 department, unless you want it now =)
upgrade that HD! 5400rpm is no fun
 
mmm. I really want a new HDD too, but i think i'lkl wait and upgrade alla at once to SATA, PCIe, A64 etc... Could spank the money on a new monitor in the meantime tho
 
yeah, go with that, your system is completely acceptable
i just picked up a 160gb sata hitachi from newegg for like 96 shipped, you could get one of those, too
im enjoying it
then again if i didnt have a 17" lcd, thatd be my first step =)
