pci express dedicated 4-6 pin molex

i just recently purchased a leadtek 6600gt. during setup i noticed there was no molex connector and after doing exstensive research i was sure all pci express cards had these for dedicated power.

subsequently i am having video trouble, memory dumps and bsods. surprise.

my question is, arent all pci express, especially the new geforce gt and ultra lines supposed to have these connectors?

just the 6800 gt and ultra, iirc. dunno if 6800nu is in that list too but i think so.

no - there is an additional connector on the mobo for it, not the card itself

thanks for the info guys. one more unanswered question out of the way in the attempt to narrow down why the hell my computer hates me.

Nope the 6800nu doesn't need an additional power connector either.

only on agp do the 6600gt's & 6800nui's need a molex

The reason is the pci-e slot delivers up to 75 watts to the card
