PCI express bios settings

I just got my first pci e board and video card ... but i had some problems at first due to a setting in the bios which slowed my card down 10 fold.

setting was called pcie sb payload it was a 16 32 64 setting values and the bios defaults at 16

i am not sure what it is but it really made a difference


so if any one can provide some insight on these new features of the pcie bios settings or provide a link that would be awesome
