PCI Express and Other Release Details

Hi,

I am planning on upgrading my summer this summer (Mid July-ish) and was a little unclear on some release dates. I've been researching many of the new technologies which will be arriving in the near future.

Firstly, PCI Express. I'd like to be able to get a motherboard which supports PCI Express. I'll be getting an AMD FX-53 (Socket 939). Will full PCI-X AMD boards be available in July? I've read things regarding half-duplex mode, which sound as if they'd be a slowed down version. Something I don't want.

Second, the Hyper Transport bus. When will the new 1GHz bus be available? Also, is HT V2.0 starting out at this 1GHz mark or will V2.0 be coming later?

Lastly, this isn't hardware related but...Windows XP 64-Bit For Extended Systems. When will that be arriving? I'd really like to be able to install this on my system initially, without having to reformat some time down the road for it.

Thanks.

PCX ... not PCI-X

AMD motherboards won't be the first that are going to support PCX. Intel is the one who is pushing for this. So, you might have to wait a bit later than July... (september?)
On the 939 boards, it is most probably going to be 1Ghz Ht.. not V2.0

Windows XP64... when Intel brungs them AMD64 enabled chips 🙂

PCX....thanks.

September...Ouch. Well, I'll have to figure out if it is worth waiting.

As for Windows XP 64-Bit, I'll pretend I didn't hear that Intel plug 😉

Thanks for the info.
