Anybody happen to know what the first PCI-X and AGP video cards were. Nvidia or ATI
and what models. When I say first I mean first to hit retail shelves, not the first
prototype. Can't find it anywhere on the net. A link would be great also.

AGP... Um... my first one was a matrox. I dont think ATI and Nvidia even existed back then.

First Pci-E cards were the Pci-E FX5xxx series like the FX5700 Pci-E. I'm too tired to find it but I think the first AGP card was by Cirrus, I think it was called the Luna something or another :-/

I definitely had a 16mb TNT NVidia card that was AGP with my PII-400....

No idea for PCI-E, though my first was a 6800GT.

AGP goes as far back as 2D only cards, stuff like matrox millenium

nvidia's first decent product was the RIVA

Thanks for the input. The FX5XXX were all agp all the way up to the 5900 Ultra so
Nvidia would have to be 6xxx series for PCI-X. I'll start with the 6200 and up.

Wish there was a site dedicated to of the wall info like this.

Thanks again.

My first AGP card was a Diamond Stealth III.. which, I think, was also known as Savage S3 or something.. I was too young, don't really remember how things were

The first PCIe cards were the FX5xxx series. Nvidia basically wanted to open the market up for them although not many of these were made. I would love to find one to benchmark and see how new gen cards compare to the old FX series.

I had (actually, still have it lying in my drawer) a 16mb ATI Rage 128 Pro, and I believe it was the first AGP card I ever owned - and one of the first 5 AGP based cards to hit the shelves, I'm sure of it.

It's already been stated before, but the GeForce PCX 5xxx were the first PCIe cards.
