PCI Express 16x? 8x?

I have a MB with only an 8x PCI-Express video slot- Dell SC420. I wonder if a PCI express card will work in it. It is a second computer, currently a server. I want to beef it up with a good video card.

I am not sure it will work.


Anyone have any knowledge on this?
