PCI-E to PCI adapter

so, since i didn't get any internships this summer, i was considering doing a little project of my own. I noticed that no adapter exists (at least to my knowledge) that will allow a user to plug a regular PCI card into a PCI-E x1 slot. I've read that the difference between the two standards is rather minimal in terms of the actual signals sent (arstechnica article). I may be entirely wrong and this project may not be pheasible at all. Does anyone have any advice as to a good place to start and possibly some links to resources for such a project.

Buy an 8111 chip from PLXtech and build a card around it.

Use a network card, they are usually very small.

would be interesting to see. you could use a pcie slot soldered to some wires, then the wires to a small pcb that goes into the pci slot. wires are flexible and then you wouldnt have to modify the case at all

the card i want to use is a low profile hauppage pvr150 and i want to put it in that nforce4 shuttle SFF. the problem may be somehow buying just a few of those chips....

Or just wait a month or so ... because the respun Philips video decoder chip 7131 (w/ PCI and PCIE interfaces) is just around the corner, cards have been shown already.
