PCI-E slot question.

I have an SSD connected to one of my x16 slots, but it blocks my video card fan intake. I have available PCI-e 1x slot in next slot location. What I would like to do is to add hardware X which will be a low profile connector that sits in my PCI-e x16 slot and in my PCI-E x1 slot while electrically connecting the PCI-E x16 into the PCI-E x1 location. Any Suggestions what this PCI-e bridge my be? The PCI-E x1 slot would not be doing anything other than just holding this contraption.

I have Rampage III Formula MoBO and have 2 video cards in 2 outer PCIe slots and a hard drive in middle PCI-x x16 slot.

is the ssd transmitting data through a controller that uses the PCIe interface? or is the expansion slot just a 'placeholder' so you don't have to use a hard drive rack? one potential solution is ordering a PCIe extension card and securing the drive to a different location in your case.

The drive is using the slot to transmit data. It is The OCZ RevoDrive X2.

I think the extension cable may work... any suggestions on best one to use?
