PCI-E question

It seems like most motherboards have at least 2 PCI-E 2.0 x16 slots. I only use a single video card. I do use PCI-E x1 cards for TV tuners, SATA card, eSATA port multipliers, etc. Can I put a PCI-E x1 card in the second video card slot? How about if the board has three or four slots for video cards? Can they be used with a PCI-E x4 or PCI-E x 1 card? Any links to articles on how it works would be appreciated.

Yes you can. I run a Tv Tuner in a PCI-e 4x slot, and I run a LSI Megaraid RAID card (PCI-E 8x) in my second 16x slot.
