Hello everyone, I was just wondering what the best overall PCI-e equipped motherboard is. Im am currnetly looking to but the GIGABYTE "GA-K8NF-9" NVIDIA nForce4 4X Chipset. I will be throwing in an AMD 64 3200 (winchester core) along with a BFG 6800GT oc. Also, will i need to get a 24 pin power supply for this setup?I am kind of new with this kind of thing so any help would be appreciated.

The board isn't out yet, and no one has reviewed it. How is it the best again? Sorry, but before NV30 came out, everyone was saying it was the best too...

Why is everyone saying its so good? Because DFI makes the most consitent, best overclocking boards available. Other companys make good boards occasionally (MSI, Chaintech, Abit, Asus etc). Granted, some have good boards more than occasionally, but if you look at the S754 round up, the DFI crushed. The NForce2 DFI also kept up w/ the best of em (the Abit NF7). DFI is just the most consistent. I haven't herd or read about a bad DFI board, unlike say MSI, which can be hit and miss. So, once we get them, I would say they will be part of the top 3 boards (the chaintech may be heading there as well, but since we really only have 3 different boards available, it is hard to say, but the DFI I can almost guarentee will be in the top 3). So, waiting for the DFI (and all the other boards) might not be a bad idea, but if you can get a chaintech now, I would go for it. Otherwise, wait (or drop the cash on an Asus).

its just a coincidence that the dfi lanparty's happen to always be one of the best or the best for amd motherboards. they are extremely high end just like the fatal1ty board that is coming out soon. they are full of features, super stable, highly overclockable, and etc. everybody is waiting for htem because they look great and are also very good performers. like what customcoms said, the lanparty mobo will be among the top 3 or so. :)

First of all, nobody can say a board is the best nF4 board without even a review to back that up. Sure, DFI's recent history shows it has a lot of potential, and I think it will probably be the best nF4 board for overclockers, but we don't know yet.

Second, the DFI nF2 boards were not so good in my experience. I had the "pleasure" of seting up two systems with the Infinity and it was definately one of the most troublesome boards I ever used. Sure it overclocks better (higher FSB) but for some reason I consistenly got better results with an AN7 running 10MHz slower (on the FSB).
They've come a long way with the LANPARTY UT nF3 250Gb, and this one not only overclocks very well but seems to be one of the most trouble-free nF3-250Gb boards around, which is why I have high expectations for their nF4 boards.
