PCI-E 1x card too long...

Hey guys, I just switched my HTPC to this mATX mobo. I have one big issue though, my HVR 2250 goes over the ram slots. I thought I did so good making sure everything I had was low profile and would work in this mobo and this happens. I'm pretty upset right now. Anyways, I have a radeon 4350 in the x16 slot for HDMI and hardware acceleration. *sigh* Anyone know of any way I can make this work? It goes over both ram slots, so I can even try to get away with only one in there. Thanks.

not much you can do about it, get a new mobo or a PCI tuner. Next time look at pics of the hardware before ordering.

I did, but I guess I made the poor assumption that my card was short enough. It's not like it's a long card by any means. Which is why I am so surprised by it.

The first one won't. It just positions the card sideways.

The second and third one could possibly help, but for $40 I'll just deal with sending it back. The ram only needs to be half an inch to the left more and it'd be fine! All this because I wanted free shipping on my computer case. 🙁

Thanks for the help though.

Ok new question. I just ordered an XFX AS9 from newegg, but now I am kind of thinking its not worth it to take apart this computer again just for HDMI and hardware acceleration. I set up the computer just to see if the HVR-2250 would work in a PCI-E 16x slot and it does! I also hooked it up to my TV via VGA and a 3.5mm audio cable, and its not so bad. My one question it whether this could handle 1080p. My CPU is a e6420 @ stock. At most I would watch a blu-ray disc while 2 shows are recording. But I think that only uses like 10% of my cpu anyway since the HVR-2250 does most of the work. I also found out that the HTPC can turn off the TV like a monitor when hooked up via VGA. It could not do this via HDMI. Thanks.
