Hello

So I can't hit 200fsb with this 2500+ barton. 190 seems ok but I am concerned about how fast the PCI bus is running. I want to keep it at 33mhz. Does this board keep it at that regardless of the FSB?

I can't find any software that tells me what the current PCI clock is either.

Would appreciate any answers/suggestions.

thanks

the pci bus is locked at 33mhz on the K7N2-L. Heres a suggestion to try that may help. I had a problem hitting 200mhz with a new bios revision on my soltek. I knew it wasn't the board or the cpu as I had no problem with 200 with the previous bios ver. What cured the issue was changing The memory's T(ras) setting from 6 to 8 in my case. The craziest thing about it was while my first thought would be that this should take away from the memory performance in fact it actually improved it. Go figure. Nforce2 boards are strange when it comes to ram timings. What ram are you using? I have had pc3200 that wouldn't run correctly at 200mhz so that is another possibility.

Thanks for the reply NesuD

Im actually suspicious its the cpu but there are of course many other factors. Like the Ti4200 i use and the leaky capacitors on it. Arg!

As for the ram, I did try it with non-agressive timings. But didn't help. Im using Corsair XMS 3200, one chip is newer and cas 2 the other is older and cas 2.5. I tried running the ram at 200mhz (400 DDR and) with the FSB at 166 and it was happy. Its starting to just annoy me and i might just run it with a increase in the multiplier. That is IF my video card is stable... or I will have to pursue warantee. Thats even more ARG.
