ok i am stuck with the 810 motherboard and the intel 3d chip sucks getting 40 fps in quake 3 at the lowest setting its time for an upgrade. ok since i am stuck with pci i have 2 options the voodoo5 pci or the radeon le pci version (which was to come out thic month). i clearly understand that the voodoo 5 is better and faster but less support. but you can argue that the 3dfx drivers are better then the ati ones. also wondering how the radeon will perform in pci caz i know the radeon comes in mac's in pci how dose it perform. caz if it only like 10% slower then the ddr version thats not bad at all with tv out i would go for the radeon. finally the price here in toronto the voodoo5 is still selling for 299 adn the radeon pci will be selling for under 200 so thats 100 more reasons to go radeon. any ways just wondering what the guys with 810 motherboards can get for good 3d performance, btw i have a 800 intel processer...

i have read in several places that there will be support for the voodoo5 untill 2002 and even drivers for the windowsxp should be expected... and besides the drivers out today are really good and even better then radeon ..

if you want to play Q3 on a pci card get a voodoo5, only other real opition is a geforce mx pci.......the voodoo5 is the way to go, even if no more drivers are made...look around for a deal you should be able to get one sooner or later

Despite having no future driver support, the Voodoo 5 5500 PCI is still the best PCI video card out there. You'll have to decide whether or not it's worth taking the risk of buying one.

yah i like the voodoo5 alot but it seems like the pci versions are still over priced here in canada 300 canadian a pop. thats a lot where as the radeon sdr is expected to be around 200 canadian so the price is a big factor... if i could find a pci voodoo5 for around 200 canadian its a no braner 3dfx all the way but as for right now i have to wait and see how the sdr pci will perform or is it just worth 300 for the pci voodoo5...

if you could find it somewhere a geforce2mx pci might also be good, if you dont run over 1024x768 in either 2d or 3d. Actually i was thinking, why dont you get a radeonLE which costs far less than 200 canadian and just buy a cheap motherboard with an agp slot. If that is not an option, either the radeon sdr pci or the geforce2mx pci (i'd probably go for the radeon sdr first)
