PCI Bridge issues

I have an IBM Aptiva 2174-865. I've noticed I can't get the (PCI) modem working on it. I think it is because the drivers for my "PCI Bridge" and "PCI Communication Device" aren't installed (I did a clean re-install of the OS...looks like it missed these).

I'm learning that these PCI drivers are motherboard specific. I think my mb is a AMD Irongate/Viper. Where can I find the drivers to install these two devices? THANKS!

most boards based on the amd 751 northbridge (irongate) used the via southbridge

so after you install the OS you should install the amd northbridge drivers (agp)
and then install the via 4in1 (but dont install the via agp stuff)

Thanks for the info!

I can install the amd northbridge drivers (agp) ok, but the PCI bridge drivers still don't get installed.

When I try to install the 4-in-1, I get an error of: "Registry Error! Please reboot computer."

Any thoughts? I think the easiest thing to do would be to try and get my hands on the Product Recovery for my Aptiva 2174-865. I think that installs everthing automatically...
