I've heard you can't use your PCI slots if you've got a PCI-X video card installed. Is this true?

Just letting you know, PCI Express is PCI-e, not PCI-X. They currently do not make PCI-X (which is pretty much just a server based extension of PCI bus) video cards, so I am guessing you are talking about PCI-e. I don't have anything PCI-e, so I can't help ya... :( Sorry. If it was PCI-X you were asking about though, I could have had some input for ya.... Good luck with your question though.

You can use PCI slots if you have a PCIe graphics card, otherwise why would mobo manufacturers bother including PCI slots on a PCIe motherboards?
Whereever you heard this FUD, never go there again.

pci-e and pci work fine together. as for pci-x, i have no experience, but could only assume they would work fine as well.

well the first slot under the pci-e slot might be unusable since a video card needs a slot to get air, and itt muight use a 2 slot cooler, but yeah pci works, they are entirely different buses.

Seeing as I've got a pcie equipped box running a pci wireless card, I'd say your info is bogus.

PCI-X server boards also have a few PCI slots, and both are usable at the same time as well.
