PCI 2.2

I'm getting things together for a wireless network and one of the computers will be a PII 400 Mhz Gateway. Will a PCI 2.2 adadpter card be compatible or will it have to be PCI only?

it should be ok, but you'll want to make sure the card is the proper voltage for the mobo. Some older mobos only have 3.3v or 5.0v slots, and you will want to make sure the card will be compatible. You can tell the difference by looking at how the plastic of the slot is oriented.

chuckm, all the wireless chipsets I can think of would work fine. If the card physically fits, it should work fine - if there's a voltage support issue or a word width support issue, physical keying should prevent the card from plugging into the slot.
