PCHips m805lr , no sound

I have this motherboard, can not get any sound out of it. Windows 98se doesn't even know it is there for sound. Any thoughts?

how is that MB? i got it for my linux box, i am going to hard mold the clock speed so i can get some more speed outta Duron 650, gonna mold it so that any MB can see that its 850 at least, would do 900, but don't want to push luck about the stability. Is the mb stable?

First, it's a mistake to get PCchip motherboard
second, could it be disable in the bios, have you check it?
third, the connector plug in firmly on the motherboard?
and did you plug the speaker into the wrong hole(sometime it happen) me usually when i unplug it from my sb live value, i forget which hole should the sub be plug into, so i have to do it trail and error
