Vote above! And post your thoughts.

I can't get my winnie 3000+ to run stable past 277 FSB...wonder if G.Skill will fix this.

VX by far.

If you dont feel like spending the money, go with Twinmos or Mushlin Blue UTT w/ BP pcb.

100 dollars gets you the same PCB and chips.

If your mobo can feed VX the voltage it needs your all set.

260 2-2-2-5 is easy.

Some can even do 275 fsb 2-2-2-5.

Actually, my VX peaks at about 252, 2-2-2-5 or else it runs into major errors on test 5 of memtest. I think it might need some VERY active cooling.

I hear that LE can do 2.5-3-3-5 @ 290 FSB. How does that compare to VX 250 @ 2-2-2-5?

I'm not going to start a flamewar but put it this way.

Some people prefer low latencies and others prefer high fsb with loose latencies.

Its prefrence I assume.

Annandtech did a review on VX, I suggest reading it for benchmarks.

What vDIMM? My CH-5 (similar chips) barely get warm at 3.4v.

For the OP: If you can only do that clock, VX so that you can get good latencies.

VX isnt designed for super high FSB, its designed for good FSB with lowest possible latencies (ie DDR550 @ 2-2-2-5). Look at the Anandtech roundup, it slaughters every ram on the review at their highest possible performance settings.

Yeah, my RAM doesn't usually get warm, even at 3.6 V, unless I loop test 5, which raises the temp a great deal. Actually, even one run of test 5 makes my RAM go crazy. Overall, I think its doing pretty well at 2-2-2-5 250 FSB. Besides, I think my CPU's peaked.

Sigh. That's too bad...I just bought some G.Skill LE. I'll use that in another rig I guess, since I have to build one for a friend. Advice on Mobo and CPU?
