I have some OCZ Gold Rev2 PC3700 256x2 and I'm stuck at 243FSB 1:1 ratio.

Is it a good idea to try a 5:4 divider just to get a higher FSB because that will UNDERCLOCK my ram. Are there any good or bad points to doing this????

i think ic7 has lower FSB you can reach when using 1:1 divider, like 250 FSB then if you were to use 5:4. you should have better results when using 5:4 divider on ur ic7. btw, your current overclocking experience sounds like mine.

not sure whether it's the Antec True Power 480w PSU, but i do not like the 11.78v 12v rail i'm getting either. planning to get an Enermax 550w cuz everyone says i thas good 12v rail. my 5v rail is like 4.99 stable though.

i picked up the true control 550 last year with the bay adjustments of the rails

the performance hit from 5:4 is almost unnoticeable if you got atleast 50mhz more out of the cpu and can lower the mem timings a bit

Hey guys, pretty similar situation here. I had an Antec 450, 12V rails would be around 11.72-11.78 when OC'ing to 3.4-3.5ghz. Switched to an Enermax 460 (refurb from Newegg), and now my 12V rails are fixed at 12.04, whether or not I OC or not. I would run some benchmarks if I were you. Another idea would be to get some PC4000 RAM if you are that concerned about 1:1 ratio. 512mb Kingston HyperX PC4000 @ bestbuy for $99 (after rebate), have to get two sticks to go dual channel though.

Interesting. I have a TrueBlue 480, and my 12v rail is a rock solid 11.98. (3.0C @ 3.6GHz)
