I just got two Corsair 2 CLS PC3500 512MB DDR 400 sticks and I was wondering if they would work with an ASUS A7V8X board. If not, are there any other boards that would support the RAM? I looked at the product description on ASUS.com and it says something in the lines of 3200 MAX... but as I am not quite familiar with what the PC3500 and PC3200 and so on stands for I don't know if it will support my memory.

I appreciate any help, thanx!!!

My guess is that PC-3500 is something along the lines of 466MHz DDR ram... PC-3200 is 400MHz DDR Ram... the only thing that'll happen if you use your PC-3500 is that you'll be limited at 400MHz (unless you overclock....... which I suppose you might do... :p )

But you can still use your ram..... although I heard that at 400MHz the board is not all that stable..... (any truth to this ???)

Goodluck with your ram !

Right now your only able to use 1 DDR400 DIMM, if you use two it'll be forced to be run at 333Mhz. DDR400 hasnt been JEDEC Certificed, so it isnt remotely stable.

I think the Gigabyte SiS648 based mobo is suppose to run with 2 sticks of 512 Kingston DDR400.
