I have a stick of Corsair Value Select PC3200 memory that I purchased from Fry's around Christmas. Everything is fine if I run the memory @ PC2100 speeds but the problem is that it will not run @ PC2700. It is in an Epox 4G4A right now which is the board that is giving me trouble. I had a stick of Mushkin PC3000 in there before and it worked fine @ PC2700. I am not trying to use any crazy timings as the Mushkin would only work at SPD settings and I am tried the same with the Corsair. I just swapped out the sticks hoping to be able to run faster timings with the Corsair but I guess not. :|

Try manual instead of spd memory settings. Start with 2.5-3-3-6 timings, and the rest Auto. Good luck.

I'll try that but the Mushkin memory worked fine at SPD timings. I am running memtest86 right now at PC2100 with SPD timings and it is working so far. The wierd thing is that the Mushkin memory is 1.5 yrs old and it worked fine (it was their high end memory at the time) and the Corsair is 2 months old yet it cannot run at the same timings. I know the Corsair is the Value memory but It is 1.5 yrs newer and one would think the chips would be better since it is rated for PC3200 speeds even if it is "value" memory.

Running Memtest86 I received no errors when running at SPD timings at PC2100 for about 2hrs. When I changed it to PC2700 at SPD timings (2.5-6-2-2) I recevied errors right away in test 3 & 4. Most (it not all) of the memory addresses were above 256MB. Does this mean that the errors are all on one side of the chip? Right now it is running at PC2700 with 2.5-6-3-3 timings and it is working OK, no errors so far. Do I have a bad memory stick or am I at the limitations of my board? I am running an 845G board with a P4 1.6 OC'd to 2.13. As I already mentioned I had a stick of Mushkin running at PC3000 at SPD timings and it worked fine.

Well Memtest86 ran fine all night with the memory set at 2.5-6-3-3. The thing is that the timings are worse than my Mushkin PC3000 memory that I took out. It makes me wonder if this Corsair will even run at PC3200 speeds????
