pc3200 on 333fsb?

I just bought a new computer, athlon xp 2700+ 333fsb, a7n8x mobo, and pc2700 ram.

will that setup work with pc3200 (400mhz) ram? or is the cpu's 333fsb limiting the ram speed to 333mhz?

if you run it in sync which is recommended then the ram will run @ 333 but since you have an unlocked chip you can also set the chip to 200*11, the increased FSB means increased performance

i don't feel like doing any oc'ing to it.

i just wanted to know that the chips fsb limited the ram speed. thanks.

thats not really OCing per se as you end up with almost identical clock speeds. to answer your question, yes it does if you run the fsb:mem @ 1:1, or you can run the ram "at speed" and have it run @ 200mhz
