PC3200 Memory Questions

Alright well I have a question here. This summer I am thinking of buying some new RAM, 2x512MB sticks of it. Anyways, I do overclock my processor but I don't think i'll be pushing the memory in radical directions because I am content with speed as it is (2500+ @ 3200+). I haven't really seen many reviews or anything that can provide me with help on this. I am aware of things like how the BH-5 is the best and that it is seemingly impossible to find, other things like that. I use an Abit NF7-S Rev2 board as well.

So I was thinking of Mushkin memory or Corsair's XMS series because I want some high-quality RAM. My buddy had some Geil and it had troubles, so i'm not going with that and I usually always use Crucial RAM but I want to see what is out there first. How is Buffalo RAM? I hear it is pretty good RAM, but i'm not sure. I am leaning towards Mushkin because I have heard great things about them, I have always regarded their memory as of some of the highest quality, and they have nice prices on Newegg. However, do you think I would want Level One or should I go for Level II RAM from Newegg instead? How about Corsair's XMS series? To put it bluntly: you won't see my RAM going 430Mhz, but you might see it around 410Mhz or 415Mhz. I'm just not sure what would fit me best and what might be overkill, if anything could be considered that in my case. I do video encoding/editing, music encoding/creation, programming and gaming as well as watching movies. Just about everything you could possibly do with a computer.

Thanks for any advice! :)

I've had great luck with my corsair, but I'm thinking about getting some mushkin or OCZ for the better timings.

I've got a stick of Buffalo PC3200 with CH-5 chips, and it's rock solid stuff.

I've had great luck with Corsair XMS, Kingston HyperX, and OCZ memory. All good stuff.

To avoid ram that might cause probs with your board, you may wish to check this site , near the top is a section listing compatible ram.

I'm using Corsair (see my sig). It seems like good stuff, it's my cpu that holds back my OC'ing efforts. However, I understand that current Corsair ram uses diff memory modules than that which I have. So be careful about product changes

My sticks of Buffalo ram haven't caused me any issues at all. The timings aren't as tight as some of the better sticks of ram though, I think.

Wow, a lot of responses! I didn't get many on other forums when I asked :)
Now I have a much better idea of what to check out!

I'm thinking of Mushkin Black Hi-Perf "222 Special" RAM (2x512Mb) for $143 or
OCZ Enhanced Latency Serices 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200 for $105 on Newegg.
I would love to have the mushkin but it all depends on what I am willing to (or can, for that matter) spend on 1gb of RAM.

People seem to like the OCZ RAM as much as the Mushkin (from what i've asked people) so I guess it really comes down to which one I want to pay for---right? If someone knows that this RAM is incompatible with the NF7-S Rev2 board then I guess I won't, but nForcers' forum topic leads me to believe that I am just fine either way.

Oh yea, I dunno what type of chips are on the 222 Special, does anyone know?
