PC2700 DDR question

Howdy

I'm trying to configure a P4 system for someone.

The board i've chosen is the Asus P4S333 SiS 645 Pentium 4 mobo

It requires pc2700 DDR though (333 mghz)

The only pc2700 i've been able to find is "kingmax" pc2700

in tests versus crucial pc2100, kingmax pc2100 came out pretty well, so i'm assuming they make decent memory

is there even a standard for pc2700 yet? anyone ever used kingmax ram?

any input is appreciated. thanks!
 
KingMax makes the only PC2700 I'd put my money down for right now. Their TinyBGA modules are 5ns, unlike the other PC2700 which is none other than "tested" PC2100 that will do 166 @ 2.5. They're still 7ish ns chips.

And yes, PC2700 (DDR333) is an 'official' standard.
 
Let us know how far you can overclock your setup.

From review, the SIS 645 seems to stop at 115 FSB. By comparison, the Intel 845D MB's can go up to 140 FSB or higher.

well, i'm just configuring it...i'm not actually going to get to build it 🙁

also, it's being used for a CAD workstation where stability is key...so i don't think they're gonna overclock

i wasn't aware that p4's were known for being very overclockable are they?
