PC2100 or PC2700 RAM

I have a 256 MB stick of Crucial PC2100. Should I get another 256 stick or upgrade to a 512 stick of PC2700? Is there that great of a performance increase with 2700?

Depends on your motherboard. Is it a 266 or 333 FSB?

its an Asus A7V333. So I think that is 333.

2700 is better then. It'll run at 333, 2100 only runs at 266.

May I butt in and ask a silly question? I didn't think you could run
memory faster than the CPU;((amd2100xp,266mhz,/pc2700,333mhz)) at least not efficiently. I'd like to be
wrong, for I'm about to try it.
