PC2-5300 vs. PC2-3000

I'm planning to upgrade 1GB laptop of PC2-5300 DDR with 4GB PC2-3000, is there going to be significant speed difference? Any suggestions?

Do you know more about the specs of your laptop?

Are you sure it's PC2-3000? That's slower than DDR2-400, which doesn't sound right.

The laptop is Toshiba Satellite U305-S7446

It's not PC2-3000, it's PC2-5300. That's DDR2-667, the same stuff you already have. It should work fine, as long as your laptop can support that much memory.
