I was looking around and i noticed PC150 RAM (Mushkin called it HSDRAM?) I was just wondering what kind of benifits this offers over PC133? Also do you need to overclock the bus speed to take advantage of the extra 17mhz? Thanks in advance.

You can check out a review of the kingmax pc150 stuff here.
What type of motherboard do you have?
I take advantage of my RAM by choosing "Host Clk + PCI Clk" or something like that in the BIOS, which means that the RAM runs at 133% of the front side bus speed. You can do that with any pc133 RAM, but I also overclock my FSB to 112mhz which makes the RAM run at ~149 at CAS 2.
But that is with the Abit KT7. I would need to know more about your computer. What is your current FSB speed?

HSDRAM is slightly different from regular SDRAM but is still SDRAM. I dunno what the deal with the H is but it is SDRAM. Is the difference this that this "Clock Access Time = 4.5 ns!" is a lot lower than normal- I don't remember.

Anyway, to overclock you have to do it "manually" (usually a BIOS adjustment) so yes, you would have to adjust the FSB to take advantage of the extra 17MHz.

zippy:

Clock acess time is different from clock cycle time, HSDRAM's clock cycle time is actually 6.6.

Clock cycle is the one they use to measure clock speeds, 7.5=133MHz, 7.0=143MHz, 6.6=150Mhz.

So using 4.5ns is kind of misleading, the Kingmax PC150 also has 4.5ns clock access, and 6.6 clock cycle.
