PC133 RAM on a PC100 board?

With the glut of cheap PC133 RAM out there, I figured it was time to shove some of that beastly stuff in my system. As it is now, though, I have 128 megs o' PC100 in there. What's more, I'm not sure if my board even *supports* PC133. (I've got a Delta MP2-BX-X - Piece of crap, sure, but it was free ;-))

First, assuming the board does support it, can 100 and 133 work simultaneously in the system? Would I need to underclock the 133 (or overclock the 100)? Is it even possible to do that?

Moreover, if the board doesn't support it, could I just shove it in there regardless and have the board read it as PC100?

I hope I was clear enough; it's all sort of a jumble in my head. :)

Well, thanks for the help.

Cheers.

Well , do you really need 256Mb in the first place ?

PC133 means it supports up to 133Mhz , it will still run at your processor or FSB specs , Example P3-450 = 100Mhz .

The highest FSB you can support is by your motherboard , processor and the highest FSB your PC100 can go .

It really depend cos the ram you buy 1)May and may not be compatible with your motherboard ( Normally it should be alright )
2)The PC133 Brand you buy may and may not be compatible with your PC100 brand ( Due to chipset )

The best way is to buy back the same chipset as your PC100 . :)

I am running 1 - 64MB PC100 Apacer baord w/LGS chips , 1 - 64MB PC100 Micron board & chips, and 1 - 128MB PC133 Apacer board w/Micron chips on a PII 350MHz 100MHx FSB with no problems. Of course the PC133 will only run as fast as the slowest 100MHz board does.
