PC133 -- Constant Beep!

I just replaced my PC100 128 with a 512MB of PC133. When I turn the system on, it gives a loud beep and won't shut down unless I pull the plug. I have an FIC AZ11E board, which according to the specs, will automatically shift from PC100 to PC133 without the aid of Jumpers or the like.

However, when it is in and seated properly, the system will not recognize it and it will fail.

Please advise...

Your system shouldn't have a problem seeing PC133, but it MAY have a problem seeing a 512MB stick... Try using a different slot for the 512MB stick... if that doesn't resolve it, try returning the 1 512 and getting 2 256's.. that should do the trick..

I think that board should see a 512 meg stick. Are you sure you seated the stick properly? Maybe something could be wrong with the ram. It would beep though if it is seated improperly.

yeah, i agree with SMP
improperly seated RAM would not give a continuous tone I believe. Beeping would sound more like it. Continuous tone=weird.

Sorry if I mislead. I is a beep, Not continuous, but loud and lengthy. I have tried the stick in another slot and get the same results. Is there something in the BIOS? I saw something that indicated 100MHZ for the memory... Should this be Disabled so that the SP picks up the speed?

Might want to check your CAS settings in bios. Set them to 3 if they are not already. Also try in a different computer if you can.
