pc100 cas2 vs. pc133 cas3

I can run my PC100 at 100/CAS2 or 133/CAS3.

Which is recommended: higher speed or lower latency? This would be for UT or similar applications. FWIW, I've seen a slight edge to pc133/cas3 in 3dmark2000.

Without a doubt, PC133 @ CAS3.

CAS2 is noticably faster, but the higher clock rate of PC133 will give you the extra edge in performance, even though the latency is higher than PC100 CAS2.

In my personal experience 133CAS3 is anywhere from 11% to 26% faster in memory benchmarks, which translates to 5%-10% in real world applications...it is a difference of 800MB/s compared to 1.6GB/S of bandwidth....good luck! -Fish

I've posted my benchmark results between PC100 CAS2,3 and PC133 CAS2 before. It's true, only about an average of 10-15% in benchmarks and only in certain repeated memory throughput tests do i get a 30% increase.
