GeForce FX 5900XT Video Card (128MB, AGP 8X, 2D/3D w/ TV-Out)
Manufacturer: MSI
Model: FX5900XTVTD128
Video Chipset: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900
Installed Video Memory: 128

For $190ish is this a good deal???

I know it doesn't support PCIx but neither does the board I plan to buy soon. I'm looking at buying at a Asus KN8-e Deluxe and AMD 64 3400 1mb soon. I know that the 754 is getting outdated, and the 939 is better... but I currently have a AMD XP 1900 with a motherboard that only supports 2x... 4x with bios update.

Either way should be a nice upgrade and the board is now about $122 with the chip at $225... I don't know of any better deals. I'm not a gamer, I mostly program... but I will be able to play games in 1024x768 which is the highest I go.

190 for a 5900XT? God no. They sell at Newegg for arounr 175, and offer anemic performance in DX9 shader intensive titles.

I'd look at picking up a 9800 Pro used off the FS/FT forum. They can be had for $130-150 shipped and it seems like I've seen a lot for sale lately...everyone must be selling to get in on the 6600/6800 craze.

Sigh. Depends on the game N7. OpenGL, <DX8.1 are 99.9999999% of all game titles out there, and at those the 9800Pro is no better and sometimes worse.
