I'm running Win XP Pro and this used to work for me...the only recent installs I've done are WinXP updates, and I've installed Photo Story 3 (which needed Windows Media Player 10 and Direct X 9.0) and Logitech Desktop Messenger and Logitech software.

Any ideas why when I hit the power button in the standby mode the box powers up, but the video card doesn't, or at least the monitor doesn't get the signal and the disks don't spin either.

The odd thing about it is that when it goes into Standby the Power light is still on but the video and hard disks appear to shut off so I have to hold the power button down and then the system shuts down (I can tell this by the power light going off). The I have to press the power button again to get the system to boot.

Hmmmmmm.

So when you press power, the led lights on the front of the case but there are no beeps, no video display and no sign of hard discs spinning up, is that correct? It's just you go on to say "the video and the hard discs appear to shut off"

Or have got this wrong and if you completely shut down the system (hold the power button in for about 5 secs) the system will boot normally, it's just you can't resume from standby mode ?

I have the system to go into "Standby" in 20 minutes. So after being idle for 20 minutes the monitor and hard disks quit running but the power light is still on.

In order for me to get it to work again I have to hold down the power button for about 10 seconds until the system shuts off. The I have to press the power button to turn it on.

The system should be resumed from Standby mode by pressing the power button.
