First of all, my pc was working fine. No problems. I decided to get a new case, so I did so. I hooked everything up and it didnt show anything on screen. Then started it backup then it showed something on screen then I believe it just stopped. I looked at all the plugs then rewired it again and still nothing. I then replaced the motherboard and it still didnt have anything on screen. I then took back the motherboard and bought a video card with that money. Hooked it up and of course, did not work. Thats where I am now. Really a huge pain in the ass driving to frys. Anyway, Ive tried booting with just the psu, mobo, video card and monitor. Did not do anything. Is it the procesor?

So far I bought a mobo and now a video card and system still displays nothing. I didnt think a procesor would do this. Is there any way to make sure? At this point my system is

Amd Athlon XP 2000+ Socket 478
>300mb ram Pc2100
200gb Hd
MSI MX 4000

It does everything fine. I was thinking about upgrading just mobo and procesor just to be done with this mess but then I also have to upgrade the ram. I only have like 100 bucks so I guess thats out of the question.

Where's the memory?

Pull everything out of the case and see if it works.

Tried what? Try to be a little more descriptive in your OP. :)

1) You failed to list memory when you were describing the minimal parts you tested
2) You say it does nothing, then it doesn't display anything, and then say it does everything fine. Does the last statement refer to meeting your usage habits?
3) Do you no longer get any power as in no fans spinning and no LED's?
4) Does it power on but not post (no video)?
5) Any beeps?
6) So you've bench built the system?

I tried it with and without the ram. No changes

1. I probably should have said that I put in the wrong kind of ram and tried to boot. I did change motherboards after that
2. Everything runs, just the screen doesent display anything
3. All fans and Led's work, also the drives.
4. Yes it powers on but the monitor displays nothing
5. Dont have a "speaker" on this system.
6. What?

I need some help.

My budget for ram cpu, mobo and maybe psu (just in case) is <200. Ya I know, thats how much its worth to me. Lol

Can someone find me a good Motherboard and Cpu combo? My only requirements are that I prefer AMD for this budget. I also NEED 3-4 pci slots. AND it needs AGP.

Also I have no speaker in this case, I guess because its an htpc, is there anyway I can buy a really cheap speaker? Sorry, I know its not a "speaker", but I don't know what its called. How about beeper?

Thanks
