PC won't boot

My CPU was getting hot so I cleaned out the heatsink (as I have to do, every few months), and now it won't boot. I'm at the screen that has an ASUS and A7V8X-X logo that says "Press [Tab] to show POST Screen; press [Alt]+[F2] to enter EZ Flash utility" but it hangs there. The IDE light stays solid. Any ideas?

Yeah, the fan spins. I've reseated my ram and video card. Removing all my drives doesn't change anything (except that I end up with the IDE light off).

For anyone who is interested, it was hanging for over a minute at the bios screen, but did eventually boot. I managed to get into the BIOS finally today (it was pretty difficult and took many tries), and I guess the problem was that it listed the floppy drive as first in the boot order, but I have no floppy. I did tell it that on the screen where you select what drives are present, so you'd think it would not try to boot from floppy, but I guess it's not that smart 🙂.
