PC won't boot

What could be wrong if a pc get's past the POST check, finds all the primary and secondary drives, but then refuses to boot from any device, including the floppy?

All I get is the word OK... when it finds the first boot device, be it floppy or hard drive, but won't boot. The PC was fine one day, then this.

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

It's a Celeron 300 under Win Me. Been running without problems since new.
